“Store Fires (Taxpayers and Strip Malls)”
Deputy Assistant Chief John Norman is a 37 year veteran of the fire service; twenty-seven of which were spent working for FDNY. Chief Norman has worked as a firefighter through Deputy Assistant Chief and gained experience on engine, ladder, and rescue companies. Chief Norman also worked in specialty programs such Rescue Hazardous Materials, High Rise Safety, and Special Operations. Chief Norman has degrees from Oklahoma State University and Empire State College (SUNY) and has graduated from special programs delivered by West Point and Columbia University. John is an internationally known instructor in many fire and rescue service topics. Chief Norman has written extensively for both Fire Engineering and Firehouse magazines and has served on several validation committees for IFSTA.
